CLAY DAY LAST SUNDAY

CLAY DAY LAST SUNDAY On Sunday, May 18th, Ann and Rebecca and I with Megan and Emily, gathered at Ann's house for a clay day after I got off work. We tested a new technique and made some pretty pendants and earrings using a rock technique and impressing real leaves.

Ann also taught us how to make a kalidascope cane.

INTERNATIONAL GEM AND JEWELRY SHOW, HOUSTON TEXAS

June 20-22
Gem shows are fantastic for getting incredible deals on beads of ALL kinds!!

This is the same show that I, Ann, Rebecca, Hannah, Megan and Emily went to in April.   Like Ann said, we have the ability to enter the wholesale side as well, which has EVEN BETTER deals.  The tickets are generally $6.00 but you can get an internet coupon for $1.00 OFF.  When we got there, we were handed 5 tickets for free by ladies who had too many tickets.  So we didn't end up paying anything to get in.

IHere's an excerpt from my personal blog about the show...
"I went to a gem show Sunday before last with some coworkers of mine (Ann and Rebecca) and their three daughters. It was a lot of fun. We ate at two nice restaurants (La Madeline for breakfast and Cheesecake Factory for dinner). We went to Michael's before the show and bought a bunch of beads and clay before the gem show. I had never tried polymer clay jewelry and with the sale, I picked up several blocks and the tools needed to get me started. I have since done three different batches of jewelry and pens. I LOVE it. Very artsy and fun. ....I still bought a ton of pearls from the gem show and can't wait to make more jewelry with it."

It would be really fun to have the society go as a group!  Let's plan on going.  We can carpool in a few cars to save on gas and parking. Email the society at [email protected] if you are interested in going.  More details soon.

Here are the show details...
